August is ending. Long, lazy days at the pool and beach are over with, or soon will be. The dog days of summer will soon fade away. Cooler, crisp fall days will replace leisurely days. The new school term is starting. Parents eagerly commemorate the occasion with a spate of photographs of their children leaving the house or climbing the steps of the bus posted across Facebook. In VisionAware’s combined post, a group of vision-impaired individuals mark the occasion by sharing lessons learned in the ‘school of life.’

The School of Life website gave me two pleasures – first, discovering the work of photographer Andrew Follows and second, reading a post on the website called “Going to School with the Dinosaurs”. The site was a peek into a world many of us have little knowledge of.

I’ll check them out, Amy. It must be so hard for the children’s parents. I’ve never considered this.

Trust and the loss of control would frustrate me the most, I’ve always been told that I am too independent and having to depend on people who have let me down before would seriously irritate me.
