Turning real life into a fun I Love Lucy comedy helped me see the humor of my predicament.

… and stuck!

(See http://amybovarid.com/stuck-between-two-drawers/). But when I when I went through the trial, I was sweating it! I couldn’t move move my arm, either forward or backward. It was as if I were stuck in a  vise. I could move my legs and my lower body to a small degree but I was limited to a few inches on either side of me. My movement was constrained because of the drawers I was wedged in between. I might have made the first mistake by reaching into an area that was unsuited to me. But after, I was held captive by my circumstances. And I didn’t know how long it would last.

How many times in life does this happen to you and me? We didn’t mean to “go there.” We didn’t mean for things to end up that way. We didn’t mean to get all tangled up, or go out on a limb.

With the wrong job. The wrong relationship.

Or we start out in one place that seems perfectly fine but then want to move forward.

To a better job. A better relationship. To get a new house.  Different plans.

But we’re stuck.

We’re all trapped by our circumstances at some point in our lives, whether through our own doing or through no fault of our own. I know so many people who are struggling now to change their circumstances. We can scream, beg others to help us, especially  when we feel powerless to move on our own, boxed in by variables.

I know there isn’t a pat answer. But like in the situation I described yesterday, I always knew in the back of my mind that Mom was home. She’d answer me eventually.  She’d make sure I received the help I needed.  Although I felt frustrated and, at the time, helpless, I never lost HOPE.

In our lives, we all have that One to call on who will come at the right time to move us forward, out of our mess. If you are stuck in life,  don’t lose hope, keep calling out the One Who Does Hear. He will get you UN-stuck.

He promises that He will. He said I will never leave or forsake you.

Thanks, Amy, for this great reminder – that when we feel stuck, we can ask God to help us get Unstuck.

RJ, it sure is a relief when He begins to wiggle us free! =)
