“Let Them See You”
One Sunday morning during the worship service at church, Frank and I sang together. After the service, the lady in the pew ahead of us turned around and said, “What beautiful voices the two of you have!” Frank jabbed me in the ribs. I rolled my eyes. But, secretly, I wondered if Jesus had just performed a miracle! That’s what it would have taken to make my voice sound beautiful.
That afternoon, Frank said, “Let’s do it!”
“Let’s write a song together.”
“I don’t know anything about writing a song. You’re the songwriter.”
“We can do it together. You give me the ideas. I’ll help you arrange the words and put it to music. We can do it in one day.”
“One day? You’re kidding me! You’re not going to make me sing are you?”
He laughed. “No, that won’t be necessary.”
I held out my hand. “Deal!”
That’s how the challenge began. And you know, we did it.
“Let Them See You” was born.
When he’s not writing fledgling praise songs with me, Frank serves as the lead singer for the country-western “Clayton Tucker” band, whose music is featured in and around Detroit, Michigan.
Though I can’t carry a tune, that has never stopped me from following all kinds of music and using it in my ESL (English as a Second Language) classes to teach various language patterns and structures.
I muddle through somehow.
Seriously friends, you luck out here since Frank’s voice is the only audible one recorded. His band members are playing guitar in the background. Also, at some point, Frank plays the harmonica. Can you hear it? I was behind the scenes writing the lyrics, being amazed as God directed my thoughts. Once that was done, I watched from the sidelines as chords were put to my words and the song came to life.
When you click on my music page, you will have to scroll down a little bit. There you will find a brief explanation about the meaning of the song. (Hint: It was a bad vision day when I wrote it).
Below the explanation is the song link. I hope you like my attempt to bring God glory.

What kinds of music do you like? What do you think of country-western as praise music? Does this seem like a typical praise song? Just wondering because my music background is shaky! But to God be the glory!
