Jesus the Other Sun
Guiding me along the lighted path…

The doctor was discussing my mother’s osteoporosis just the day before. She has very delicate bone structure. The doc said the medicine had several side-effects that he didn’t think Mom would respond well to. He shook a finger at her. “Make sure you don’t fall!”
The very next afternoon my mother fell backward down seven stairs. She landed at the foot of the steps face-down, hitting her shoulder and her right arm (perhaps breaking her wrist, we’re not sure yet).
Thank God I was home and could run to help her.
The pain is so acute at the moment, she can’t even use a walker to get out of bed and go to the bathroom. She breaks out in a cold sweat and becomes nauseous.
At 4:00 a.m. and a difficult night so far, it appears that I will not have time to pursue my stories for the moment. I’ll check in from time-to-time with you with progress updates.
Tomorrow (or this morning) she will likely have to go to the ER to see if her wrist is fractured.
